Must have pony products

Pony tack and accessories are big business!  Here are a few must haves!

Saddle

*A child sized saddle to fit the child.  PG's is a 14 inch Beval Jr.  This has made all of the difference for PG.  The 14 inch is as small as they come but should last her about 3 years.  It positions her legs so that she can get around the saddle and increase contact of the spurs.  I think it feels more secure to her as well.  We bought ours used...and expect to be able to get 100% of the money back when we sell it in a few years.

Helmets

*PG currently sports a Troxel for lessons.  It gets dropped a good bit and always gets dirty.  We will be upgrading to a Charles Owen come time for our first rated show.

Half Chaps

*At first I thought half chaps at 5yo was just a fashion statement.  You know..."look the part".  We started out with a cute pair that had removal Velcro sides you could change the color on.  As she has grown taller, we have graduated to leather half chaps.

A milestone into real riding for PG was the day she refused her half chaps and got a bruise from the stirrup leathers going over a jump :)

Spurs

*Every pony girl eventually rides that sour pony that needs a little bit more motivation to get trotting!

Crop

*Right now PG rides with one of these cute sparkly little things!  This won't do at a show though.  We will be purchasing a leather braided crop for showing.

Grooming Supplies

*Grooming supplies come in an array of fun colorful options. This year's Christmas gifts will include sparkly braiding bands, glitter curry comb, glitter paint and heart stencils.  She will have a blast!

Grooming bag

*Most people use a grooming box, but PG is getting the Thirty One Utility Tote with "Horses" embroidered in.  Can't wait till she sees it!!
